Academic Life at Al Fanoos
Course of Study
The school follows the IGCSE curriculum with English as the medium of instruction, enriched with Islamic values and Arabic language.
Subjects Offered
The school aims to provide modern education with special emphasis on moral, physical and emotional development, nurturing character building, tolerance, cooperation and excellence in every field.
Academic Structure
π Promotion Policy: Based on daily performance throughout the year and Term examination results. Minimum 80% attendance required for promotion. Progress Reports issued after each Term Exam at the Open House.
Co-Curricular Activities
Equal importance is given to co-curricular activities to stimulate student interests and develop their inherent potential.
Students divided into four houses β Emerald (Green), Ruby (Red), Sapphire (Blue), Topaz (Yellow). Each has a house master/mistress, captain and vice-captain. All competitions on inter-house basis.
Physical education is an integral part of the curriculum. School starts with physical exercises. Football, shuttle badminton, chess and indoor games promoted at all stages. Annual medical check-up organised.
Eco-Club, Science Club, Arts Club and IT Club give every student the chance to empower their inner potential and explore interests beyond the regular curriculum.
Elocution, public speaking, writing, story narrating, composing poems, drawings, paintings, music, singing, quizzing, debating and craft work.
Well-stocked library with book lending facilities for students and teachers. Silence and discipline maintained. Reference books and periodicals available for in-library use.
Computer education is compulsory from Grade I onwards with a prescribed IGCSE-aligned syllabus. Students gain essential digital literacy for the modern world.
